Caleb Plant is a 30-year old American boxer who was born in Nashville, Tennessee, to parents Beth (mother) and Richie Plant (father). Despite growing up in Ashland City with very little and fighting through challenges including the death of his daughter Alia in 2015 and death of his mother Beth in 2019, he never gave up. 

Caleb’s father Richie, a former kickboxer, brought his son to the gym at age 9, in hopes to keep him on the straight and narrow.  He started kickboxing, and became a nine-time national champion and five-time world champion.  His dad wanted to give him an outlet so he could better himself and be more successful in life, rather than be a statistic like most other kids growing up in his neighborhood. 

As an amateur Caleb won numerous tournament titles while compiling a record of 97 wins with only 20 defeats.  Some of his favorite fighters growing up were James Toney, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Meldrick Taylor and Andre Ward.  In today’s boxing era, Caleb enjoys watching Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his ability to stay composed while having a great ring I.Q to go along with this great business skills.  Because Caleb Plant rarely gets hit during his fights, many boxing pundits compare his fighting style to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

On May 10, 2014 at age 21, Caleb made his professional debut against Travis Davidson at the USC Galen Center in Los Angeles, California.  Caleb would only need 47 seconds to end the fight with a vicious knockout.  

On June 27, 2014, at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, Caleb would face Mike Noriega.  Caleb would dominate the 4-round bout winning every round convincingly, going the distance for the first time. Scorecards read 40-36 across the board. 

Caleb would close out the 2014 year winning three more bouts against Brian True, Jovan Ramirez, and Daryl Gardner, all coming by way of knockout.  Caleb would go (5-0, 4 KOs) in 2014.

On March 6, 2015, Caleb would make his 2015 debut against Daniel Henry at the MGM Grand, Marquee Ballroom in Las Vegas, Nevada.  This would be his first 6-round bout.  After sending Henry to the canvass twice in the first round, Caleb would end the bout with a knockout at the 2:29 mark.  

On May 29, 2015, Plant would face Jason Zabokrtsky at the Stadium Holiday Inn in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Caleb would only need 1:49 to end the bout in the first round by way of knockout.  

On June 27, 2015 Caleb stepped up in competition against Juan Carlos Rojas at the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.  Rojas would take Caleb past the first round but would only last to the fourth.  The bout ended by way of knockout at the 1:03 mark of round four. 

On August 15, 2015 Plant scored an impressive knockout against Zoltan Sera, a devastating stoppage the ended the bout at the 2:19 mark of round one. This would be the sixth first round knockout of his career. 

September 15, 2015, makes the day Caleb Plant would fight in his first 8-round bout against Jamar Freeman, a veteran of 18 fights. Plant would go the full 8-rounds winning a unanimous decision.  Freeman was down in round three.  Scorecards read 80-71 twice and 79-72.

On Oct 31, 2015 Caleb defeated Tyron Brunson in his second 8-round bout as a professional.  Plant dominated the fight winning a unanimous decision to close out the 2015 year.  Scorecards read 79-73 twice and 78-74.

Caleb made his 2016 debut on Jan 19th at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.  He would win by 6th round TKO against Adasat Rodriguez. He would follow that victory with on Jun 3, 2016 with a 4th round KO against Carlos Galvan, a fight that took place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

On August 23rd, Caleb Plant would fight in his first 10-round main event, a nationally televised bout on ESPN.  He would win a unanimous decision against Juan DeAngel winning every round with scorecard reading 100-89 across the board.  The bout took place at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

On February 25, 2017, Caleb defeated hard punching Thomas Awimbono (25-6-1, 21 KOs) in a main event televised live on Fox Sports 1.  With the victory, Caleb was ranked IBF #11 and WBA #8.

On September 8, 2017, Plant faced the 31-year-old switch-hitting journeyman Andrew Hernandez, who took the fight on just eight days' notice after Alan Campa dropped out. Plant jabbed effectively (81 of 271, 30 percent) while neutralizing Hernandez's usually effective jab (46 of 325, 14 percent). Plant was also sharp with his power shots landing 44 percent to Hernandez's 19 percent.  Caleb Plant recorded a 10-round shutout decision against a tough Hernandez (19-7-1, 9 KOs) as the scorecards read 100-90 three times.

On Saturday, Feb. 17 from Don Haskins Center on the UTEP campus in El Paso, Texas, Caleb Plant scored a unanimous victory over Rogelio Medina.  Plant now, 18-0, 10 KOs, of Ashland City, Tennessee, beat Mexico’s Medina (38-9, 32 KOs) by big margins on all three scorecards over 12 rounds in a dominating performance.  Scorecards read (120-108, 119-109, 117-111), all in favor of Plant.

According to ratings released by Nielsen Media Research, the 12-round unanimous decision, which FOX aired as the co-main event of a three-bout broadcast Saturday night, attracted a peak audience of 1,530,000. The entire telecast averaged 1,136,000 viewers for FOX.

Plant defeated Jose Uzcategui on January 13, 2019 from the Microsoft Center in Los Angeles, CA to become the IBF Super Middleweight Champion of the World. The fight was telecast live on Fox Sports 1 and attracted a record peak audience of 986,000 viewers and averaged 761,000 viewers over the course of the 2 1/2 telecast.

On July 20, 2019 Plant retained his IBF super middleweight world title with a dominant third-round TKO over previously unbeaten Mike Lee (21-1, 11 KOs) in the main event of PBC on FOX from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Plant-Lee drew a peak viewership of 1,141,000. Their scheduled 12-round bout was just before the FOX Sports Pay-Per-View telecast of the Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman fight.

Plant put on a show in his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee defending his IBF 168-pound title with a 10th round TKO of mandatory and Germany’s Vincent Feigenbutz on PBC on FOX. The broadcast drew a peak audience of 1.809 million viewers and averaged  1.689 million.  

On January 30, 2021 Plant successfully defended his title for a third time with a masterful unanimous decision victory over former champion Caleb “Golden” Truax in the main event of FOX PBC Fight Night on Saturday night from the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles.

Using blazing hand speed, a stiff jab and punches from multiple angles, Plant battered Truax and kept him off balance over the course of the 12 rounds. It was a game effort from Truax, but Plant proved to be too much to handle. All three judges scored the bout in favor of Plant 120-108, a 12-round shutout.

The broadcast drew a peak audience of 2.019 million viewers and averaged 1.887 for the Plant -Truax the 12-round bout. The entire FOX PBC three-fight card averaged 1.608 million viewers and ranks as FOX’s best PBC Fight Night performance since December 21, 2019.

On November 6, 2021 Plant suffered his first-ever career loss to super middleweight world champion Saul Alvarez in their historic undisputed championship pay-per-view showdown from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The pay-per-view reached 800,000 buys and made history as the first ever super middleweight undisputed unification bout in the four belt era.

October 15, 2022 Plant delivered a highlight-reel one-punch knockout over former two-time super middleweight champion Anthony “The Dog” Dirrell (34-3-2, 25 KOs) in the ninth round of their WBC 168-pound title eliminator on FOX PPV at Barclays in Brooklyn, NY. The stoppage is a candidate for knockout of the year and Plant’s best performance to date.

Just six months later Plant faced long-time rival David Benavidez for the Interim WBC Super Middleweight Title but camp up short in a unanimous decision loss. The fight was controlled by Plant in the first half of the fight and the two former world champions battled it out in Las Vegas at MGM Grand Garden Arena in a fight that is a candidate for Fight of the Year.

In his spare time, Caleb enjoys spending time with his family and wife, Jordan and his daughter Charly.  He enjoys football, hanging with friends and loves the outdoors.  With his unique style in clothing, Caleb is also a fashion icon.  He has a vision of someday creating his own clothing line.  

Caleb Plant is advised by world renowned boxing icon, Al Haymon and managed by Luis DeCubas Jr.  At (22-2, 13 KOs), Caleb is now one of the top fighters in the super-middleweight division.
